PESHAQ's Original Karnataka Ghee Roast Masala Paste (Raw, Not Curry Paste) | 2 Sachets – Serves 4–6

History

Karnataka ghee roast, a fiery and flavorful dish, has its roots deep in the coastal cuisine of Mangalore. This dish is a testament to the region's rich culinary heritage, influenced by diverse cultures and traditions. It is believed to have been created in the mid-20th century by a family-run restaurant in Kundapur, a small town near Mangalore. The dish's name, "ghee roast," hints at its most essential ingredient: ghee, a clarified butter that imparts a rich, nutty flavor and a silky texture. The use of ghee is a hallmark of Mangalorean cuisine, and it adds a depth of flavor to the dish.
